Jira was the first product: issue tracking that teams could buy without a sales call. Self-serve software, built far from Silicon Valley, sold to people who already knew they needed it. Then Confluence, Bitbucket, Trello — a stack for how work actually moves. The company stayed in Sydney while the customers became the world's engineering floors.
Freedom was the product as much as the software. No cold-calling. Transparent pricing. A culture that treated engineers as the customer and the builder. The sky they named the company for was other people's work. Atlassian held it up by getting out of the way.

A Sydney company listed in America in 2015. The credit-card origin became one of the great public software stories of the decade. He is still co-CEO. Still holding up the thing he named the company for.
